My experience in learning English, in real-time. What I like and what is not in these techniques. And how to make it better, not worse, as it is now.

Language learning|LAIT-с

My personal experience in learning Russian and English.

If you want to learn how to predict events, start learning the Old Slavonic alphabet. As you move forward, you will notice for yourself that some events you can predict even before they happened. After all, as I wrote earlier, Slavic and Arabic are the system languages of the human brain. They are given to you at birth, and you just don't remember them.

How I learn a foreign language

The picture shows books and a chalkboard labeled Learn Languages.
I got acquainted with the English language at school. It seemed to me then that I could learn it, thanks to my good memory. But, I couldn't do it. My maximum English score was satisfactory. But most often it is not.

I could not understand him. Then I went to college, university. And wherever I studied this language, I always had a bad grade.

I have tried several times to learn this language on my own and have always failed in learning it.

I read many articles by bloggers and psychologists on how to learn English. And I concluded that everything they write is not worth my attention.

I don't understand English at all by ear, even when the teacher or speaker speaks slowly. I associate this language with the barking of a small dog. While learning this language, I feel a constant feeling of discomfort.

Psychologists do not write anything about this. They try to impose the opinion that you need the motivation to learn a language, that you have had bad teachers, that it takes hard work to learn it, and so on, so on.

I do not dispute their opinion that learning a language requires hard work and constant training. You can spend a lot of your time learning a language, but you get nothing in the end. You will know a few simple sentences and phrases. But from this, you will not disappear the discomfort within you.

I need to know English to do business, but all my intensive studies did not lead me to any noticeable success. Some people pay money to tutors, of whom the Internet is now full. They spend money, waste time, and in the end, they get nothing at the end.

Some people write on the Internet that you need to study the language every day and for 15 minutes. This is complete nonsense! You won't be able to do anything in 15 minutes. You need to study the language for 40-60 minutes. But, there is one small condition that, as a rule, people who learn a language do not pay attention to. As you complete the lesson, you should not have a feeling of dissatisfaction and anger that something is not working out for you. If you have such a mood and you freaked out, then the next time you will not have enough desire to continue learning. You have to learn the language until you feel like a little more and you start to get nervous. It is necessary to stop and stop practicing the language. Even if you paid for your lesson. You should have a positive aftertaste in your soul, not a negative one.

I began to think about whether it is worth learning a language that is not given to you at all. And I realized that it was not worth it. You shouldn't try to punch through the wall with your head, you still won't succeed.

I have liked the German language since childhood. For me, it is harmonious and intuitive. To me, it doesn't sound like a dog barking in a driveway. He is not rough, but soft. And most importantly, when learning German, I do not feel a sense of discomfort within myself.

I took several German lessons in a short amount of time. At the same time, when I was studying English, it took me much longer to complete the same number of lessons.

I came to the conclusion that you need not chase the fashion, but learn the language that you like and which you can master much faster and better. And moreover, spend less time and resources on it.

Before you start learning a particular language, listen to your inner world and feel how this language is in harmony with you. If it doesn't, don't even try. No, you can try without believing what I have written. But the result will be just that. which I described above.

A decision is on you.

This article is about how I see learning a foreign language at school. It will be correct to absorb a foreign language, and not learn it. Because learning a foreign language at school turns into torture for many students.

When absorbing a foreign language, you need to apply the same techniques that an adult uses for personal and professional growth.

Learning process

Internal factors

External factors

Education system

Motivation is a motivation for action and an integral part of any professional and personal growth.

Motivation is divided into external and internal. As a rule, there is no clear border between them.

The teacher in the first lesson, on the absorption of a foreign language, must give positive motivation to students. Use extrinsic motivation. Since the intrinsic motivation of an individual student is most likely lacking. Pupils do not know what motivation is since no one taught them this. The teacher must create motivation artificially, both for a group of students and for an individual student. The teacher needs to tell the students that if you know a foreign language, they will be able to communicate with peers all over the world using social networks; you will be able to read books, watch films and videos, listen to songs in a foreign language and understand it without translation. Motivation, in other words, is interest. The interest in absorbing a foreign language should be maintained all the time and not weaken, but rather intensify.

Students need to be taught that absorbing a foreign language is a very difficult task, but doable. But only if they work together and together. It takes patience and perseverance to absorb a foreign language.

The teacher should explain to the students what is the difference between the desire to have something and the goal to get something.

Ask students to write their goals for the subject being studied. Even if a student has passed a white sheet of paper for verification, this does not mean that he has no goal. It just means that he has not formed his goal. At this young age, it is difficult for students to think and think like an adult. He observes, acts, but rarely comprehends his actions and actions. He is still learning this. Therefore, it is not necessary to demand the impossible from him. You need to be patient and wait.

Learning process.

As you know, a person perceives information from the outside in different ways. The task of the teacher is to find out how each student perceives information. It is necessary to divide the students according to the criteria for the perception of information into different groups. And to each of these groups apply different teaching methods. That is, the teacher must be a universal teacher. But, in a modern school, all students are generalized. And because of this, what I wrote at the very beginning of the article happens.

The second problem is that concentration of attention is lost after a short period of time. Students become inattentive and distracted. the teacher's task, in this case, is to notice this change in the classroom and to switch the attention of students from the thought process to the physical or play process. That is, to give students the opportunity to be distracted by other tasks not related to mental activity. A walk in the fresh air is suitable here.

This should all happen in a 45-minute lesson.

In children, concentration begins to fall after 15-20 minutes of classes. And by the end of the lesson, it does not remain at all. Hence, problems arise with memorizing the material.

When absorbing a foreign language, you need to focus on the practical assimilation of the material at school. Use the experience of absorbing the language from all over the world, and not only Russian developments. There are many platforms where educational material for children and adolescents is presented in an easy-to-understand form. So that the students do not lose interest, and the subject under study, they need to be given homework, taking into account their characteristics of the perception of information and the level of training. Students cannot be approached in a generalized way.

Internal factors

The internal factors of students are very different, these are problems with peers, isolation, lack of communication, hyperactivity, restlessness, problems in the family. The task of the teacher or social worker at school is to try to distract the child from these problems. And try to solve them ourselves. To do this, they have a fairly large arsenal of tools. You just need to learn how to apply them correctly. And apply in such a way as not to damage the unstable psyche of the child. Now, unfortunately, there is a practice at school to place the entire responsibility of raising a child on the parents. This is fundamentally wrong. Most of the time the child is at school and not at home. Accordingly, the school must take all feasible measures to educate and educate the child.

External factors

They consist in the fact that the student, having come home, playing in the yard with peers, sitting on social networks, communicates in his native language, since it is more understandable and comfortable for him.

He does not absorb a foreign language when he crosses the threshold of the school.

And this is a serious problem that, in my opinion, has not been studied. If you change something, then you need to change it a lot and in a complex.

The formula is simple at first glance.

Student = Parents + School.

But now, due to weak institutions, including the authorities, this formula does not work. Everyone is on his own.

Education system.

The Soviet education system was almost completely destroyed.

Considering that it is very harmful. The Soviet education system taught children to think, reflect, and reason. School exams were both oral and written. To pass them, I had to read a lot of books on subjects. Plus, study additionally in the library, at home, or with a tutor.

And if you read a lot, then additional neural connections are formed that improve your memory, expand your boundaries of perception. You learn to think and reason with only a small amount of information. You think out the rest. You can express your thoughts clearly and clearly. Calmly, without hesitation, speak at the exam in front of the examination committee.

Now all this is lost. In the information age, children and adolescents have gone online headlong, consuming questionable content like TikTok. Listening to the thoughts of bloggers, their thoughts are not always connected. Sitting for hours on social networks.

This is called a trend. I call this stupidity and fooling of the younger generation. And the worse the education, the worse the neural connections are formed, the more stupid a person becomes. Reading books, among young people, goes into oblivion. It becomes easier for young people to impose someone else's point of view. They lack critical thinking. They are increasingly influenced by the crowd. Yes, and among them, there are people who do not follow the crowd, but walk side by side. But in life, it is very difficult for them. Since they are white crows, against the background of a gray mass.

Russia took the path of least resistance in the field of education, introducing the Western model of education. If the West took over the Soviet school from Russia, modifying it, adjusting it to the modern world. That Russia took the worst that is and not the best.

Instead of modifying the Soviet school, removing the political component from it, and adjusting this school to the modern world. Using modern technology.

Learning foreign language adults. Part 2.

The picture shows the head of a man from behind whose mouth words come out in different languages.
In the previous part, it was written about how to learn a foreign language for children at school.

The problems that appear in adults when learning a foreign language are echoes of the past, what was in childhood.

There is a judgment that happened in childhood, it is forgotten, but our brain does not forget anything. The brain records information and stores it in remote corners of our memory.

And when we again decide to start learning a foreign language, our brain pulls out negative memories from the corners of our memory. After all, most educational platforms repeat the same methods as in school. Nothing changed.

People who started learning a foreign language again face the same problems they faced at school.

Most bloggers who advertise ways to learn a language talk about motivation. Yes, motivation is needed. But the motivation must be constantly nourished from the outside so that interest does not fade away and disappear. After all, motivation and interest are the same. Interest will disappear, will fade away, and the desire to study a foreign language.

And this is expected. A foreign language is difficult to understand because it is different, alien. And when faced with the first difficulties in learning, for most people, motivation or interest begins to tend to zero. And people give up learning the language, believing that they are not capable of learning.

Learning a language is a skill, like managing people or reading technical drawings, programming, etc.

You need to remember how you mastered this or that skill and transfer this knowledge to the study of a foreign language. First, we learn a skill, master it, and only then improve it.

I didn’t think of a motivation for myself to learn a foreign language. I approached learning the language as an acquisition of another skill. I wondered what would come of it.

The purpose of learning a language

The author of the article had to learn to read articles, news, books in a foreign language without a translator and understand the meaning of what was written. Articles and books devoted to the topic of artificial intelligence. In the future, the goal may change.

Language learning

Learning must be approached thoughtfully. There are no universal platforms on which you can fully learn a foreign language. Better to use comprehensive language learning. Use 2-4 educational platforms. The writer of these lines is using three platforms. On one, I study words and expressions. On the other, I am taking an audition. And on the third, I hone the skill of writing sentences.

You need to start learning a language with the alphabet. Because the sounds of another language are not familiar and will need to be memorized. Use transcription to form words.

Then start learning words. Ideally, in order to understand the simplest sentences and be able to compose, you need to know 1500 words. Today I know 665 words and 538 phrases with confidence. I have been studying English for 3.5 months. I can already recognize some words and expressions and translate them into Russian without using a translator.

People perceive information coming from the outside in a variety of ways. These are features of the human brain. And this must be reckoned with. And do not go blindly on the occasion of some bloggers who advise that if you start learning colloquial speech, you will quickly understand the language... This is not true, for people who do not understand foreign speech by ear. A different approach is needed here. The author did not listen to English speech. I started looking for educational platforms where you can listen to English speakers, or monologues, or dialogues for free. I found a couple of educational platforms (I will give links at the end of the article) that came up and on them, you can train in language perception.

To perceive the language by ear, you need to choose short dialogues. YouTube has a lot of English-language content for every taste. But the writer of these lines decided to start not with YouTube, but with an educational platform. The decision I made was motivated by the fact that I want to listen to English spoken at normal playback speed. The only condition that I set myself is that sentences in dialogues should be easy, not difficult. Gradually increasing the difficulty. It's easier, in the opinion of the author of the article.

The priority of learning a foreign language is considered to be daily classes, without interruptions. You can take a break from study, but only for 1-2 days. If the break is longer, then the resulting material is quickly forgotten.

Not the last moment is the time to study a foreign language. One hour is enough for the author to fully study the language. This time includes learning new words, listening, and composing the simplest phrases. If you continue to study further, then the concentration drops, and irritation begins to appear.

This is precisely what should not be allowed because, after the irritation, interest in learning the language is lost. This is revealed empirically by applying all sorts of methods and studying on educational platforms.

For each stage of language learning, you need to use all sorts of methods and change platforms. Then the result will not be long in coming. You cannot apply the same thing.

Diversity in language learning is the key to success.

The author writes original articles as he progresses in the knowledge and absorption of the language. I share my experience with my readers, and this experience will help someone. The author of these lines went through the stages of complete rejection of the language being studied, to a tolerant attitude towards it.

English pisses me off

The picture shows a man in anger.
The picture shows a man in anger.
I wrote a couple of articles here on the topic of learning English from scratch. In principle, the correct thoughts are outlined in these articles. I barely mastered the second article. I suffered for a long time, finally wrote it.

What can I say? English pisses me off. And specifically. He is different and incomprehensible. I don't hear it. The methods that are offered on the Internet are useless. Nobody asks me whether I like these techniques or not. They are trying to impose them on me. And that also pisses me off. Well, I don’t want to watch a video with subtitles, besides the Russian ones. I don't want to know what the English-speaking people sing in their songs. I like composition and music. And what they sing about there, I am violet. I tried audio listening. Moreover, I listened to English speech at the most elementary level. Of the five tasks, the maximum was able to master only three. And then, only what I could clearly hear and not the first time.

Almost all platforms for learning English are paid. English speakers everywhere are shoving their language. They say that it is necessary to study it to communicate with us. And they themselves, besides their English, do not know anything else. It is rare to meet a person who knows more than one language. And the aplomb is above the roof. And our homebrew platforms echo them. create a video supposedly motivating a person to learn English. Where they directly say that if you do not know English you are flawed and you should be ashamed. But I'm not ashamed that I don't know English. How to deal with this? In response, silence. Although, no. They send letters to pay for the English lesson. And that they have advanced technology for learning English. Kulibins, mat. English speakers could not think of anything to properly teach people to speak English. After all, those whose native language is not English understand and perceive it very poorly. They are tormented just like me, perhaps. I will not generalize.

English grammar is generally beyond the bounds. I don’t understand at all why I should cram some articles into my speech. When they do not carry any meaning. And then you don’t need to write to me that in the Russian language, too, all good in bulk. This is English, not Russian.

Finding a free native English speaker takes a lot of work. Moreover, this carrier, at least a little bit, must understand Russian speech. And how you will communicate with him. You do not know English well, he knows little or does not know Russian at all. Those who are offered on these platforms are Russian speakers. That is, not native speakers. And without a native speaker, you are unlikely to be able to learn it. No, you can pronounce English words aloud as you see fit. And then listen to the same thing, but only in the original... The idea came when I was writing. You need to try it tomorrow and see what happens.

All the same, writing articles offhand is much better than sitting and thinking about them. Especially if it's the English-speaking sector. They are all about tolerance and race.

They are clearly not all right with their heads. They also teach us how to live and what to do. Assholes, deal with your cockroaches first and then climb with your lectures to the neighbors.

Distracted. English-speaking platforms are the same as Russian-speaking ones. Almost everything is paid. There is no translation into Russian. You have to use a crappy translator that translates doesn't understand how. You can only guess what he translated for you. And everywhere they ask for money; everyone wants to earn money. In principle, I have everything.
