STUDYING OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE
I got acquainted with the English language at school. It seemed to me then that I could learn it, thanks to my good memory. But, I couldn't do it. My maximum English score was satisfactory. But most often it is not.
I could not understand him. Then I went to college, university. And wherever I studied this language, I always had a bad grade.
I have tried several times to learn this language on my own and have always failed in learning it.
I read many articles by bloggers and psychologists on how to learn English. And I concluded that everything they write is not worth my attention.
I don't understand English at all by ear, even when the teacher or speaker speaks slowly. I associate this language with the barking of a small dog. While learning this language, I feel a constant feeling of discomfort.
Psychologists do not write anything about this. They try to impose the opinion that you need the motivation to learn a language, that you have had bad teachers, that it takes hard work to learn it, and so on, so on.
I do not dispute their opinion that learning a language requires hard work and constant training. You can spend a lot of your time learning a language, but you get nothing in the end. You will know a few simple sentences and phrases. But from this, you will not disappear the discomfort within you.
I need to know English to do business, but all my intensive studies did not lead me to any noticeable success. Some people pay money to tutors, of whom the Internet is now full. They spend money, waste time, and in the end, they get nothing at the end.
Some people write on the Internet that you need to study the language every day and for 15 minutes. This is complete nonsense! You won't be able to do anything in 15 minutes. You need to study the language for 40-60 minutes. But, there is one small condition that, as a rule, people who learn a language do not pay attention to. As you complete the lesson, you should not have a feeling of dissatisfaction and anger that something is not working out for you. If you have such a mood and you freaked out, then the next time you will not have enough desire to continue learning. You have to learn the language until you feel like a little more and you start to get nervous. It is necessary to stop and stop practicing the language. Even if you paid for your lesson. You should have a positive aftertaste in your soul, not a negative one.
I began to think about whether it is worth learning a language that is not given to you at all. And I realized that it was not worth it. You shouldn't try to punch through the wall with your head, you still won't succeed.
I have liked the German language since childhood. For me, it is harmonious and intuitive. To me, it doesn't sound like a dog barking in a driveway. He is not rough, but soft. And most importantly, when learning German, I do not feel a sense of discomfort within myself.
I took several German lessons in a short amount of time. At the same time, when I was studying English, it took me much longer to complete the same number of lessons.
I came to the conclusion that you need not chase the fashion, but learn the language that you like and which you can master much faster and better. And moreover, spend less time and resources on it.
Before you start learning a particular language, listen to your inner world and feel how this language is in harmony with you. If it doesn't, don't even try. No, you can try without believing what I have written. But the result will be just that. which I described above.
A decision is on you.
