This article is about how I see learning a foreign language at school. It will be correct to absorb a foreign language, and not learn it. Because learning a foreign language at school turns into torture for many students.
When absorbing a foreign language, you need to apply the same techniques that an adult uses for personal and professional growth.
Motivation is a motivation for action and an integral part of any professional and personal growth.
Motivation is divided into external and internal. As a rule, there is no clear border between them.
The teacher in the first lesson, on the absorption of a foreign language, must give positive motivation to students. Use extrinsic motivation. Since the intrinsic motivation of an individual student is most likely lacking. Pupils do not know what motivation is since no one taught them this. The teacher must create motivation artificially, both for a group of students and for an individual student. The teacher needs to tell the students that if you know a foreign language, they will be able to communicate with peers all over the world using social networks; you will be able to read books, watch films and videos, listen to songs in a foreign language and understand it without translation. Motivation, in other words, is interest. The interest in absorbing a foreign language should be maintained all the time and not weaken, but rather intensify.
Students need to be taught that absorbing a foreign language is a very difficult task, but doable. But only if they work together and together. It takes patience and perseverance to absorb a foreign language.
The teacher should explain to the students what is the difference between the desire to have something and the goal to get something.
Ask students to write their goals for the subject being studied. Even if a student has passed a white sheet of paper for verification, this does not mean that he has no goal. It just means that he has not formed his goal. At this young age, it is difficult for students to think and think like an adult. He observes, acts, but rarely comprehends his actions and actions. He is still learning this. Therefore, it is not necessary to demand the impossible from him. You need to be patient and wait.
As you know, a person perceives information from the outside in different ways. The task of the teacher is to find out how each student perceives information. It is necessary to divide the students according to the criteria for the perception of information into different groups. And to each of these groups apply different teaching methods. That is, the teacher must be a universal teacher. But, in a modern school, all students are generalized. And because of this, what I wrote at the very beginning of the article happens.
The second problem is that concentration of attention is lost after a short period of time. Students become inattentive and distracted. the teacher's task, in this case, is to notice this change in the classroom and to switch the attention of students from the thought process to the physical or play process. That is, to give students the opportunity to be distracted by other tasks not related to mental activity. A walk in the fresh air is suitable here.
This should all happen in a 45-minute lesson.
In children, concentration begins to fall after 15-20 minutes of classes. And by the end of the lesson, it does not remain at all. Hence, problems arise with memorizing the material.
When absorbing a foreign language, you need to focus on the practical assimilation of the material at school. Use the experience of absorbing the language from all over the world, and not only Russian developments. There are many platforms where educational material for children and adolescents is presented in an easy-to-understand form. So that the students do not lose interest, and the subject under study, they need to be given homework, taking into account their characteristics of the perception of information and the level of training. Students cannot be approached in a generalized way.
The internal factors of students are very different, these are problems with peers, isolation, lack of communication, hyperactivity, restlessness, problems in the family. The task of the teacher or social worker at school is to try to distract the child from these problems. And try to solve them ourselves. To do this, they have a fairly large arsenal of tools. You just need to learn how to apply them correctly. And apply in such a way as not to damage the unstable psyche of the child. Now, unfortunately, there is a practice at school to place the entire responsibility of raising a child on the parents. This is fundamentally wrong. Most of the time the child is at school and not at home. Accordingly, the school must take all feasible measures to educate and educate the child.
They consist in the fact that the student, having come home, playing in the yard with peers, sitting on social networks, communicates in his native language, since it is more understandable and comfortable for him.
He does not absorb a foreign language when he crosses the threshold of the school.
And this is a serious problem that, in my opinion, has not been studied. If you change something, then you need to change it a lot and in a complex.
The formula is simple at first glance.
Student = Parents + School.
But now, due to weak institutions, including the authorities, this formula does not work. Everyone is on his own.
The Soviet education system was almost completely destroyed.
Considering that it is very harmful. The Soviet education system taught children to think, reflect, and reason. School exams were both oral and written. To pass them, I had to read a lot of books on subjects. Plus, study additionally in the library, at home, or with a tutor.
And if you read a lot, then additional neural connections are formed that improve your memory, expand your boundaries of perception. You learn to think and reason with only a small amount of information. You think out the rest. You can express your thoughts clearly and clearly. Calmly, without hesitation, speak at the exam in front of the examination committee.
Now all this is lost. In the information age, children and adolescents have gone online headlong, consuming questionable content like TikTok. Listening to the thoughts of bloggers, their thoughts are not always connected. Sitting for hours on social networks.
This is called a trend. I call this stupidity and fooling of the younger generation. And the worse the education, the worse the neural connections are formed, the more stupid a person becomes. Reading books, among young people, goes into oblivion. It becomes easier for young people to impose someone else's point of view. They lack critical thinking. They are increasingly influenced by the crowd. Yes, and among them, there are people who do not follow the crowd, but walk side by side. But in life, it is very difficult for them. Since they are white crows, against the background of a gray mass.
Russia took the path of least resistance in the field of education, introducing the Western model of education. If the West took over the Soviet school from Russia, modifying it, adjusting it to the modern world. That Russia took the worst that is and not the best.
